After the ONE comes the TWO. The Satorique 2. The Satorique 1 is a compact, but GREAT-sounding loudspeaker. This small box produces deeper tones than you would expect based on its dimensions. Unfortunately a compact box, with its smaller membrane surface, can produce bass, but not a strong bass pressure. The dimensions of the Satori MW16P-8 tell me that the SB Acoustics loudspeaker is wonderfully designed for a d’Appolito construction.

when I built my Duetta Tops in March of 2012 and published my building report here on the forum, I finished by saying, “I wonder what awaits me after the MiDu expansion – I can’t wait to find out!!!” Well, when I finally got around to starting the new project, there were no more MiDus – they had been replaced by the MiDu2. So I changed my half-finished plans to work with the MiDu2, which didn’t take too long, since they are almost identical.

It’s been 20 years now since I was first “infected” with the home theater bug. I started with a VHS video recorder and a Trinitron 4:3 tube TV, and over the years I gradually expanded and improved my equipment fleet. After a high-quality living room theater (at least by the standards of the time), with a 720p projector, DVD player and 5.1 loudspeaker setup, I built my first basement theater in a rental house:

The most common questions we are asked about our new products and in email inquiries start with the telling words, “Couldn’t you …?” Usually these questions are wondering about changing the shape from one piece to two pieces, using a reflex tube instead of a slit or vice versa, and whether the loudspeaker can be used for a home theater.

As we know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and beautiful sounds are in the ear of the listener. In the area of loudspeaker building, for whatever reason, we have gotten used to placing much more emphasis on the second part of that statement than the first. That means a great deal of attention is paid to diagram-readers; all of the jumps in the measurement curve are smoothed out, and the baffle board in particular is designed with the greatest of care.
